About After School

Beyond day school, The Study Academy offers a variety of educational opportunities for students: summer day camps, and after school tutorial and classes, as well as summer school credit classes. Students may join us on a part-time basis in any of these programs to experience our excellence in teaching. For more information on any of our programs, contact the school today by telephone at 416.929.1630 or via email at info@thestudyacademy.ca.

After School Programs

Brain Camp

A creative and diverse day camp for lower school students in early summer. Keep the mind and body active at Brain Camp during the last two weeks of June with trips to the Science Centre and Pursuit OCR, kayaking at Harbourfront Centre, enriching activities including fun, real-world applications of mathematics and computer programming, a photographic scavenger hunt, and local food cook-off.

Run by Ontario Certified Teachers, the camp emphasizes cooperation, fun, and participation. Registration opens each year on April 1. Contact the school directly to learn more.

Night School

Students may take classes in small-group or one-to-one format running from October to May of each school year. Classes run on a 4:30-6:30 p.m. schedule on Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday. One-to-one classes may have customized scheduling to fit around sports teams, theatre practice, or family commitments. Courses are taught to build comprehension and may incorporate accommodations from psychoeducational assessments or IEPs from the student’s home school. Inquire today to learn more about our course offerings.

Summer School

Throughout the warmth of summer, students may take classes in small-group or one-to-one formats. We offer July, August, and July-August schedules as well as custom timetables for one-to-one classes. Like night school, our summer session classes build comprehension with a focus on reintegration and may incorporate accommodations from psychoeducational assessments or IEPs from the student’s home school. Get in touch today to learn more and start the registration process.

Tutoring

The Study Academy has a long tradition of providing superior one-to-one tutoring for capable students seeking to improve and enrich their daily classroom experience, troubleshoot problems, or consolidate basic skills. The strength of our program comes from 25 years of experience with all levels of Ontario Ministry curriculum, taught by gifted and engaged teachers. Our Instructors are ministry-certified teachers or have university degrees with expertise in their field, giving expert guidance to better instruct, inform, and inspire. We work cooperatively with schools, therapists, and parents to ensure that each student’s unique needs are effectively met. Our services are comprehensive, with all subjects taught at all levels, and additional support available in executive functions, essay writing, receptive and expressive language skills, and private school and university entrance preparation.

Our Tutors:

  • Work in direct communication with school teachers to build off and with the curriculum used during the school day
  • Use ministry guidelines or the International Baccalaureate (IB) program curriculum expectations to help support student learning
