Student Life

A VIBRANT COMMUNITY

TO LIVE AND LEARN IN

MORE THAN A CLASSROOM

An enriching student life is a crucial contributing factor to our students’ happiness and success. Our passionate school community provides our students with varied opportunities to make their school life joyful and vibrant. At The Study Academy, we offer a variety of activities for our students to explore leadership, creative outlets, sports, relationship-building, and academic enrichment. Students may start their day at 8:00 on Tuesdays and Thursdays in preparation for the upcoming Cayley math contest, they may wish to sip some tea and spill the tea at lunch on Wednesdays, they may want to get active and join soccer practice Tuesday after school, or they may wish to roleplay and dive into the fantastical universe of Dungeons & Dragons after school. We offer a wide variety of activities based on student interest, and if a student has a great idea, they are encouraged to find a faculty supervisor to start a new one.

CLUBS AND TEAMS

Extracurricular activites vary from year to year based on student interest. Our clubs and teams from the 2023-24 school year include:

TSA Houses

One of The Study Academy’s favourite traditions is our Battle of the Houses. Every student belongs to a house and, throughout the year, participates in inter-house challenges and activities to earn points. At the end of the year, the house with the most points wins the celebrated Husky Cup (named after our athletics mascot).

This system recognises the degree of commitment recipients have had throughout the year to athletic competitions, sharing spirit in themed activities, and taking an active and positive role in contributing to school culture. The House system promotes interaction across grades and provides leadership opportunities while building school spirit for one of the best 2eTwice-exceptional (2e) students are a diverse group of learners with complicated learning profiles. They exhibit gifts and talents in certain areas and experience impingement on their learning in others. Learn More schools in Toronto.

STUDENT COUNCIL

Every fall, our Upper School students take to the polls and elect the student council who will lead them. An executive team is chosen and acts to achieve the following:

  • Liaising between the student body and faculty to plan events such as social barbeques, themed spirit days, inter-house challenges, workshops, and field trips
  • Contributing to executive council meetings, supporting student visitors, and acting as student ambassadors at school functions

Inspire Week

At The Study Academy, Upper School students have an opportunity during March Break to travel the world and contribute through conservation and community-building activities. Inspire Week is a week-long event where students engage in community service learning through themed international trips, speakers, and activities.

They work with grassroots organisations to support sustainable community projects and enjoy adventures like volcano summits and horseback riding, enhancing their experiences.
